The CS-80V 1.6 is a software analogue synthesizer recreation program of the Yamaha CS-80, a 1970’s synthesizer, providing users with the opportunity to experience this synthesizer’s unique sounds through a new technological version.
The Yamaha CS-80 was considered by many in the music industry to be the ultimate synthesizer in the 1970’s and its price tag was high enough to put it out of the reach of everyday musicians, and might still if it was till around today. Successful musicians of the 70’s and 80’s who used the Yamaha CS-80 broadcast its worth and now the CS-80V 1.6 allows today’s musicians to rediscover the unique sounds of this synthesizer.
All of the original features of the analog version are included in the CS-80V 1.6 version; 2 oscillators, 4 filters (high and low pass), 2 LFOs, 4 envelopes, 2 VCAs, 1 sub-oscillator (LFO), 1 ring modulator, chorus and tremolo, along with over 400 presets. Additionally, the CS-80V 1.6 synthesizer has a Delay effect and a Multi-Mode that assigns a different sound to each of the 8 polyphony voices on different keyboard sections. Also, users have a choice of 12 sources in which they can modulate 38 destination parameters for 10 modulations in the modulation matrix that is featured. Other features include an arpeggiator, a sampling rate of up to 96 kHz, with no aliasing from 0.1 Hz to 16 kHz, expression and sustain pedals, and ribbon controller.
